Affine Registration with Feature Space Mutual Information
This paper introduces two important issues of image registration. At first we want to recall the very general definition of mutual information that allows the choice of various feature spaces to perform image registration. Second we discuss the problem of finding the global maximum in an arbitrary feature space. We used a very general parallel, distributed memory, genetic optimization which tur...
متن کاملFeature Harvesting for Tracking-by-Detection
We propose a fast approach to 3–D object detection and pose estimation that owes its robustness to a training phase during which the target object slowly moves with respect to the camera. No additional information is provided to the system, save a very rough initialization in the first frame of the training sequence. It can be used to detect the target object in each video frame independently. ...
متن کاملTracking without Feature Detection
The tracking method presented in this paper is based on an active-contour algorithm for pose refinement. The most important innovation with respect to most active-contour methods is that no ”features” are detected at any stage: the goodness-of-fit measure for the model is a smooth function (without thresholds) of both model parameters and image grey-levels. This smoothness leads to an estimate ...
متن کاملSpace Target Tracking by Variance Detection
Detecting and tracking small targets in the aerospace is both a significant and difficult issue for the satellite tracking system. It is fundamentally challenging due to the existence of strong noise in captured images, the few characteristics of spot-like target, the simultaneous multiple targets, the real-time requirements, and so on. To address these challenges, we respectively design the de...
متن کاملLane Detection and Tracking through Affine Rectification
Inversion of the perspective mapping in acquired images enables an autonomous vehicle to perform vision-based navigation tasks, such as obstacle detection. We present work on affine rectification that restores the parallel property of a traffic lane, using the vanishing point of equally spaced parallel lane boundaries. Experimental results demonstrate the potential of our new algorithm.
